The 2013 growing year is best described as early, even and excellent - a seamless vintage that delivered steady weather and optimal ripening. Like the stellar 2012 vintage, we achieved wonderful concentration and complexity of flavors across all of our Estate varietals. This wine was crafted from the fruit of Block 8 in our Knights Valley Estate vineyard, harvested in the early morning of September 16, 2013. Pressed as whole clusters and settled overnight, the juice was racked off gross lees to barrel for fermentation. Primary fermentation was followed by full native malolatic fermentation. Aged 12 months sur lie in 85% new French oak, the wine was stirred every two weeks for eight months to enhance richness and texture.
