Gearing up for harvest

Prior to the harvest season the winery is buzzing with action. We are running from the vineyards to the winery - going from tasting grapes to tasting the previous years wines. The 2009 Cabernets will be racked (siphoning the wine from the sediment into clean barrels) to aerate the wine and open up the bouquet before they go back in barrel to age for the next six months.

We'll also spend a great deal of time getting ready for harvest. This means paying attention to the practical matters of preparation - ensuring all the necessary harvest supplies get delivered on time, including barrels, yeast, and other equipment.
