Donovan Hudson has been involved with Knights Bridge in the capacity of Financial Controller working with financial analysis, billing, and budgets since the inception of the company. Born and educated in South Africa, he attended the Charted Institute of Secretaries and Administrators in Johannesburg and has trained in business administration and advanced accounting. After traveling the European continent extensively, Donovan made his home in Boston, Massachusetts with his wife and three children. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, playing cricket, and cheering on his favorite football team. Donovan is excited to continue his education in the world of food and wine.
Meredith Cahill-Marsland, our Assistant Winemaker, came to Knights Bridge prior to the 2007 harvest to work with our winemakers and coordinate events and projects related to all aspects of winemaking. Born and raised in Florida, Meredith attended the University of Florida where she received a B.S. in Chemistry. Upon moving to the Napa Valley to pursue interests in winemaking, Meredith took advanced classes at UC Davis and has held positions at Mumm Napa, Hess, and Bogle Vineyards. Enjoying life in Northern California to the fullest, Meredith loves to participate in outdoor activities and sports and host dinner parties with friends. Meredith brings her scientific background to her role at Knights Bridge where she is interested in learning all aspects of the wine business.
Charlene Ragatz, our Office Manager, came to Knights Bridge in January of 2009. She spends her days keeping our business organized and productive. She has been in the wine industry since 2004, first working at Barefoot Cellars as Office Manager. Born in Connecticut and raised in South Florida, her early years were spent on the East Coast. Charlene graduated from Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio and pursued a teaching career. After moving to Laguna Beach, CA Charlene took a break from her career to raise two sons, Greg & Geoff. Charlene was active in her community serving on the Laguna Beach School Board and actively participated in state educational politics.
Charlene moved to Sonoma County in the mid 1990's and was a legal secretary for nine years before deciding to venture into Sonoma County's booming wine industry. Outside of her career, Charlene enjoys swimming, walking, reading and spending time with her family.
Christopher Robin Drake has been our Sales Manager since the Spring of 2010. He comes to us with over 15 years of experience in the wine industry. He began working wine events on the Central Coast for wineries such as Sausilito Canyon Vineyards, and Cambria. Working with these wineries gave him the opportunity to team up with industry friends to make vintages of Santa Maria Valley Pinot Noir. After enjoying winemaking for a bit, Chris moved over to the sales side of the business working for The Estates Group. In addition to his winemaking and sales experience, Chris has also been involved in the educational side of the industry by earning his C.S.W and teaching wine classes for Lake Tahoe Community College. All this eventually lead Chris to the Sales Manager position for Knights Bridge where he is excited to use all of his experience and knowledge in moving forward.
Victoria Bunch recently joined Knights Bridge Winery as our Sales and Marketing Assistant. After a 12-year stint as a Marketing Manager in the high tech industry, Victoria brings with her a wealth of knowledge and creativity. As the Sales and Marketing Assistant, she manages our customer databases, social media interaction, and sales coordination. Victoria resides in St. Helena with her husband and two young children. In her "spare time", she can often be found on the tennis court or in her garden.
Jeff Ames – While working on his Masters in Education at the University of Memphis, Jeff Ames found his passion for wine, and soon a part time job at a local wine shop was not enough to satisfy him. In 1998, Jeff worked his first harvest in Oregon at Rex Hill Vineyards. After moving to California the following year, he spent several years learning every aspect of the industry—working as a writer for Decanter magazine, in sales at WineBid.com and in various tasting rooms around the valley—before returning to winemaking as assistant winemaker to Thomas Brown in 2001. For the next several years, Jeff worked with projects such as Schrader, Maybach, and Outpost, and in 2003 took over as head winemaker for Tor Kenward Family wines, where he has produced critically acclaimed wines from vineyards including Tokalon, Durell Vineyards, and Hudson Vineyard. Jeff also founded his own project—Rudius Wines—in 2005, producing Napa Valley Cabernets and Rhone wines from several of the North Coast’s top vineyards.
